Disability Support Worker - Neurological Disabilities

Job Description

As a Disability Support Worker at 'I'M WITH YOU', you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to clients with neurological disabilities. This is a part-time position based in Melbourne, VIC 3000, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you support. What you'll be doing

• Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

• Providing companionship and social support to promote client well-being and independence

• Implementing individualised support plans to address the unique needs and goals of each client

• Advocating for client rights and ensuring their safety and comfort at all times

• Participating in client-focused activities and outings to encourage community engagement

• Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support the delivery of high-quality services

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in providing support to individuals with neurological disabilities, such as Spinal Cord injury, Stroke

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients, their families, and the broader care team

• A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting clients with complex needs

• A commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities

• A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred)

• Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or Disability, are highly regarded
