We are currently searching for multiple candidates to be able to work with spinal cord injuries, stroke and people living with a disability with complex mental health issues.
What You Will Be Doing
Personal Care: Assistance with showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Transfers: Safe use of hoists and manual handling equipment
Community Access: Supporting the client to engage in community activities and social outings
Domestic Tasks: Light household duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean environment
Social Support: Building rapport, providing companionship, and supporting mental health and wellbeing
Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in skin integrity, health status, or wellbeing to clinical staff
Collaboration: Working alongside clinical nurses and other healthcare professionals
Highly Desirable Experience & Skills
Demonstrated experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries and physical disabilities and complex mental health issues.
Experience with personal care.
Calm, patient approach in challenging situations
Understanding of pressure injury prevention and skin care protocols
Experience supporting people with psychosocial disabilities
Patient, non-judgemental approach to supporting individuals
Dual qualification of your Certificate 3 in Individual Support and Certificate 4 in Mental Health.
Minimum Requirements
Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
National Police Check
Working with Children Check
Drivers Licence with reliable vehicle
