We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our growing Allied Health team on a full-time or part-time basis.
As an Occupational Therapist at Affective Care, you will provide high-quality, participant-centred assessments and therapeutic interventions to children, adolescents, and adults living with disability. You will work collaboratively with participants and their support networks to identify goals, build capacity, enhance independence, and recommend supports that improve everyday functioning and community participation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) and preparing comprehensive NDIS reports.
Assessing participants' functional abilities across activities of daily living, mobility, communication, sensory processing, and community participation.
Developing and implementing evidence-based therapy interventions tailored to participant goals.
Recommending and prescribing Assistive Technology (AT) and home modifications where appropriate.
Conducting environmental assessments and providing recommendations to improve accessibility and safety.
Supporting participants to build independence, life skills, and social participation.
Collaborating with families, support coordinators, behaviour support practitioners, and other allied health professionals.
Maintaining accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards and AHPRA requirements.
Contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives and best-practice service delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
Minimum 2 years' experience working as an Occupational Therapist (NDIS experience highly regarded).
Experience conducting Functional Capacity Assessments and preparing high-quality reports for NDIS participants.
Knowledge of the NDIS Act, NDIS Practice Standards, Quality and Safeguarding Framework, and relevant legislation.
Experience supporting children and/or adults with a range of disabilities, including psychosocial, intellectual, neurological, and physical disabilities.
Experience administering and interpreting standardised assessments such as Vineland-3, ABAS-3, and other functional assessment tools.
Strong clinical reasoning, report-writing, and communication skills.
Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
Current Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
